About Stuart Whitehair

Stuart R. Whitehair is a Montana native who grew up in Bozeman, graduating from Bozeman High in 1980. Stuart attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, earning a double major in History and Political Science in 1984, going on to obtain a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1987. Stuart returned to his home town of Bozeman MT in 1987 and has been a sole practitioner since 1990. The emphasis of practice for Stuart R. Whitehair P.C. has been consumer bankruptcy. Starting in 1995 – and every year since – Stuart R. Whitehair, P.C. has assisted more individuals and businesses through the bankruptcy process than all other attorneys in Gallatin, Park, Jefferson, Madison and Broadwater counties combined. Our other focus is estate planning, helping individuals and families with wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Stuart is ably assisted by his secretary/legal assistant/office manager Katie Sylvis. Stuart and Katie have been working together for over 30 years, and have developed a process by which our clients can get through the bankruptcy process or estate planning as quickly and painlessly as possible.
