About Scott Solkoff

Scott Solkoff has been certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Elder Law and is author of the leading attorney textbook on Elder Law, now past its seventeenth print editions. Scott focuses his practice on protecting his clients' assets against the cost of long-term care. This includes securing the client's assets while also obtaining Medicaid and V.A. eligibility to pay for care in the home, care in assisted living facilities, care in memory care facilities and care in nursing homes without compromising quality of care. Scott's father, Jerome Ira Solkoff, was one of the founders of the field of Elder Law. Scott followed in his father's footsteps with a great teacher by his side. Scott's father taught him not only the substance of law but how to be an ethical and successful lawyer by always putting the client first. In turn, Scott has been awarded the Charlotte Brayer Public Service Award for his "Outstanding Contribution to Protecting the Elderly" and numerous other awards from The Florida Bar and other advocacy organizations. He and his firm are considered national thought leaders in the field of Elder Law and Scott frequently teaches across the country. His clients are his top professional focus and his firm is dedciated solely to the legal needs of the elderly, disabled, their caregivers and their families. Scott was one of the youngest attorneys to be elected a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel. He was also elected Chair of The Florida Bar's Elder Law Section and President of the state chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has been selected year after year for "Top Attorneys in Florida" and "Superlawyers." Scott has achieved precedent-setting case law in the courts in the field of Elder Law. He is active in his South Florida community with active service to local charities both in the elder care community and in the Jewish community. He is married and has four children.
