About Sami Thalji

I am a rare native Floridian, born in Clearwater and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. I graduated from Osceola High School in Seminole, Florida and attended the University of Florida where I graduated with High Honors receiving both a Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor. I proudly started my legal career in law enforcement as an Assistant State Attorney with the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office. In 4 short years I was promoted to the Major rimes Bureau before deciding to venture out into private practice. After two years handling high end criminal defense at a private firm I opened my own firm starting as a criminal defense lawyer but ultimately expanding into consumer protection areas such as auto accidents, real estate, debt harassment, bankruptcy, and foreclosure work. Eventually my firm evolved into Florida Consumer Lawyers where we offer a full array of consumer work for clients. On a personal level, I love coaching. It is a passion I pursued academically while at the University of Florida and now you'll see at the basketball gym or on the soccer pitch on most days where I coach boys' basketball and especially love coaching girls' soccer FC Tampa Rangers. Consumer law is about community and so is coaching. Helping to build and develop our community by working with people in the community with legal problems and also helping young people grow up while playing the sport they love is truly something I cherish.
