About Ryan Cassman

I am a partner at Barrow Brown Carrington, PLLC, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am certified in family law by the Family Law Certification Board of the Indiana State Bar Association. My practice covers a broad spectrum of family-related legal issues, such as Divorce, Custody, Adoption, Guardianship, and Appellate matters. I also assist clients in protecting their business interests and investments before and after a divorce. I offer collaborative divorce options alongside traditional family law services and am an active member of the Central Indiana Association of Collaborative Professionals (CIACP). With 20 years of courtroom experience, I am well-equipped to handle complex family law cases, including divorce, separation, custody modifications, guardianships, and significant child support disputes. I have a strong track record in appellate cases and have presented arguments before the Indiana Supreme Court. Part of my practice is also dedicated to representing adoptive parents in contested adoptions across Indiana. My combination of experience and approach allows me to resolve cases effectively without the need for trial. I am often selected by my peers and judges to serve as a mediator in divorce and other family law matters. In addition to mediation, I provide various alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, including collaborative divorce, family law arbitration, and parenting coordination. I am actively involved in the Indiana legal community and regularly speak at Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars. I currently lead the executive council of the ADR Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, am a distinguished lifetime fellow of The Indianapolis Bar Foundation, and have served on the board of directors for both the Family Law and ADR Sections of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
