About Richard Volin

Forming a company begins long before filing paperwork with a state agency. Owners need to understand their initial operations, and have a plan for growth. I guide business clients through that critical process. I advise on entity type and draft organic documents, such as operating agreements, shareholder agreements, and bylaws. I also build strong contracts between companies and their employees, independent contracts, customers, and vendors. As outside general counsel, I work with business clients on a host of issues that they will face during their journey. I have 20+ years of litigation experience. I know how critical it is to prepare for the possibility of disputes, but also how disruptive litigation can be to someone's personal and professional life. I make every effort to avoid formal proceedings if there is a better avenue to resolution. When formal proceedings become necessary, I represent my clients with commitment and passion. I have prosecuted claims for individuals and businesses in state and federal courts, and in arbitration and mediation. I have also defended challenges to corporate and individual conduct.
