About Richard McCleary

I have represented claimants seeking Social Security disability benefits for 36 years. My work has taken me to Social Security Office of Hearings Operations hearing offices across the United States, and I’ve had the privilege of representing clients at every level of appeal. Throughout my career, I’ve practiced Social Security disability law both as a sole practitioner and as a member of a law firm. My experience has allowed me to passionately advocate for my clients, approaching each unique disability claim with a thoughtful perspective and a compassionate demeanor. I graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 1990 and am a proud member of the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Over the years, I’ve gained the trust of thousands of claimants who have relied on me to guide them through their cases. I have significant experience working with Administrative Law Judges in the New England area, including hearing offices in Boston, Springfield, and Lawrence, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and New Haven, Connecticut. Additionally, I have handled disability cases in New York City and Albany, New York. Outside the office, I enjoy barbequing ribs for my neighbors, spending time gardening, and helping my son with his beekeeping business—though I prefer to assist from inside the truck!
