๐ (646) 217-0749I am an employment lawyer and mediator based in New York City, where I have been running my firm, now known as Third Ear Conflict Resolution, since 2003. I provide legal guidance to employers with workers in New York State, and I help resolve workplace disputes worldwide, aiming to address conflicts before they escalate to court. I am also the author of DIY CONFLICT RESOLUTION: SEVEN CHOICES AND FIVE ACTIONS OF THE MASTERS and writing my second book, UNSUSTAINABLE: WHY OUR WORKPLACES AREN'T WORKING AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. Before attending law school, I worked in Human Resources and operations management at United Parcel Service, where I first became interested in employment law. My initial plan was to attend law school during the off seasons while pursuing a career in Sport Administration, which aligned with my undergraduate degree. However, my time in the sports industry was unexpectedly cut short by a lawsuit that extended into my legal studies. "I learned civil procedure in the courtroom and classroom simultaneously," I often share. "I also saw the possibilities in mediation, although my former employer failed to appear." I hold certifications in employment and ethno-religious mediation and served for two years as the Main Representative to the United Nations for the International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation. I frequently collaborate with journalists on topics such as conflict resolution, mediation, workplace disputes, domestic employment, independent contractors, and trauma-informed management. Additionally, I enjoy coaching aspiring mediators through the MediateArt program at Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and at law schools across New York City.
