About Michael Thompson

I am an Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney at Coughlin Midlige & Garland LLP. My practice concentrates in the areas of taxation, trusts and estates, disability law, elder law, special needs trusts, formation and governance of non-profit entities, charitable planning, and advice to closely held businesses. I have over twenty years of experience in taxation, trusts and estates. Before joining Coughlin Midlige & Garland LLP, I was a shareholder with Cestone & Thompson, P.C. from 2010 to 2021. I was an associate in the Tax, Trusts and Estates Practice Group at Coughlin Duffy LLP from 2008 to 2010. I was associated with the law firm of Danna & Associates, PC from 1998 to 2008 and served as the Managing Attorney for that firm's New Jersey office from 2001 to 2006. I am a frequent lecturer to legal, business and community groups. We serve clients in: Essex, Union, Somerset, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Hunterdon, Bergen, Monmouth Counties in New Jersey, and Richmond, Kings, and New York Counties.
