About Michael McCubbin

From a young age, Mike was driven to advocate for victims and help them recover from harm. His competitive spirit and passion for justice led him to focus on medical malpractice, where he fights against a system built to protect doctors, hospitals, and insurers—not patients. Mike is dedicated to securing compensation and future medical care for those who have suffered devastating injuries or loss. Mike has tried cases throughout Maryland, D.C., federal courts, and across the country. He has argued before the Supreme Court of Maryland and secured millions for his clients through verdicts and settlements. In 2020, he served as trial counsel in one of the Nation’s Top 100 Verdicts, a $5.5M jury award in a wrongful death case involving open-heart surgery. He was later invited to join Best of the Bar, a recognition given only to attorneys with one of the top 100 verdicts in the U.S. He has also been named to America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators and was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers – Top 40 Under 40 in 2021. Mike’s practice is now focused on birth injury and trauma cases, including those involving cerebral palsy, Erb’s palsy, and developmental delays. He believes in learning each client’s unique story and providing personalized, strategic advocacy. His deep experience includes years defending doctors and hospitals, giving him firsthand knowledge of how the other side thinks—and how to beat them. He previously founded and led the Medical Malpractice Department at a Maryland firm and was a chair of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. Mike remains active in trial lawyer associations, lectures on medical negligence, and lives in Annapolis with his wife and daughter.
