About Matt Thompson

I was born in Lakeland, Florida, as a fourth generation Florida native. Growing up in this state, I have earned a deep respect and admiration for Florida's laws and how those laws affect its citizens. It is because of this respect and admiration that I chose to study Political Science at The Florida State University. I then went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. My legal career began with a six-year tenure at the Office of the State Attorney in DeLand, Florida. While working as a prosecutor, I obtained the highly valued trial experience needed to zealously represent my clients in the courtroom and see their cases through to completion. I have presented a wide array of cases to judges and juries. In order to expand my foundation of legal knowledge and experience, I spent two years as an Associate Attorney in a civil litigation firm handling matters such as real estate transactions including foreclosures and landlord/tenant disputes, personal injury litigation, contract formation and litigation, and family law. During this time I earned the distinct honor of being named a "Rising Star" in Florida's "Super Lawyers" magazine for 2013, 2014 and 2015. The culmination of my legal career was establishing Thompson Law, P.A. for the citizens of Central Florida.
