About Mark Nicholson

I worked as a Civil Court Bailiff and a law clerk for the American Civil Liberties Union. At the Indiana State Public Defender Office, I worked as a law clerk then an attorney. I practice mainly in the areas of criminal law, representing people accused of misdemeanors, felonies, traffic offenses, OVWI/DUI, drug cases, probation violations, and drug crimes. I also practice family law, personal injury, small claims, and Civil Rights and discrimination. I have extensive trial experience, and I am not afraid to fight for you. I love the challenge of facing the government or big insurance companies. When they are trying to take advantage of you, then that is where an aggressive lawyer that knows the way around a courtroom can help. I am an adjunct law professor at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. I am a motivational speaker and have spoken at various non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses. I have spoken at various colleges, churches, jails, prisons, veteran's organizations, graduations, Eli Lilly, legal conferences, and various other functions. I am in the December 2015 issue of Indianapolis Monthly, the Fall 2012 issue of the ACLU's Carrying the Torch, the August 3-16, 2011 issue of Indiana Lawyer and various other news outlets. I am a military combat veteran and assist veterans in receiving the benefits they earned. Also, I am a certified Kansas City Barbecue Society Judge and former member of the United States Parachute Association. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation (HVAF) and the Indiana Public Defender Council.
