About Mark Montanaro

Mark Montanaro founded MontanaroLaw, P.C. in 2014 with the goal of providing practical, business-minded legal support for individuals and entrepreneurs throughout New York. Known for his strategic approach, Mark helps clients navigate legal challenges while also considering the real-world business decisions behind them. His work spans complex contract negotiations and transactional matters involving real estate, software licensing, intellectual property, digital media rights, entertainment agreements, and the purchase or sale of businesses. Mark’s earlier career included work inside the legal departments of multiple cable television networks, where he gained first-hand experience negotiating high-level contracts with production companies, well-known talent, and leading advertising agencies. Mark also manages the firm’s Estate Planning group, assisting clients in protecting assets and building strong plans for the future. In addition, he represents clients in Criminal and Driver Defense matters, including DUI/DWI/DWAI cases and other criminal charges in local courts across the region. Mark is a frequent speaker on advertising and promotional marketing law, entrepreneurship, and startup strategy. He has been honored as a Super Lawyers – Rising Star for eight consecutive years (2016–2023), maintains a 10.0 AVVO rating, and has received Client’s Choice awards for consecutive years.
