About Marcus Spake

I understand that for my clients, a case is never just about legal matters, it’s about their health, livelihood, and family. I take that responsibility to heart and am dedicated to protecting their best interests. Having represented both injured workers and defendants in workers’ compensation claims, I draw on my experiences to work toward achieving the best possible outcomes. I grew up in Lincoln County, North Carolina, where I spent my early years working on farms, construction sites, and in classrooms. Those experiences instilled in me the importance of hard work and serving others. I earned my B.S. from Appalachian State University and my J.D. from Charlotte School of Law. I’m fluent in Spanish and an active member of the North Carolina State Bar, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Hispanic National Bar Association. In 2020, I was honored to be named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” I also completed the E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders and, in 2024, became a Board-Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation. Today, I remain committed to advocating for injured workers with compassion, integrity, and determination. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Maribeth, and our two cats, Clio and Calliope, or heading out into the woods for a camping trip.
