📞 (619) 743-9130I am a criminal defense and DUI attorney based in San Diego, and I’ve been practicing law since opening the Law Office of Marc S. Kohnen in 2008. Over the years, my cases have garnered national attention, with coverage on CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Discovery Channel, TMZ, The View, A&E, and many other prominent networks and programs. Locally, my work has been featured on San Diego’s CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX affiliates. I’ve also been quoted in national print media, and my cases have appeared in publications such as the San Diego Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Seattle Times, NY Post, Huffington Post, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. In San Diego courtrooms, I’ve achieved NOT GUILTY verdicts for clients facing charges ranging from felony First Degree Murder to misdemeanor DUI. My practice extends beyond San Diego, as I’ve defended cases in courtrooms across California, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. My experience comes from years of standing up to prosecutors throughout the state. I’ve been honored to be nominated as one of San Diego’s Top Attorneys by the San Diego Daily Transcript and have had the opportunity to speak on criminal defense topics at local law schools. I grew up both in the United States and abroad, and I’m fluent in three languages. My personal experiences, including dealing with the incarceration of a family member, have given me a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face when navigating the justice system. Before pursuing a legal career, I worked as an assistant college football coach in Pennsylvania. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in 1999 and my law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2006. I’ve called San Diego home since 2002. Outside of work, I enjoy coaching sports, playing piano, and spending time with my family.
