๐ (844) 529-8255Kirby Farris is the Managing Partner of Farris, Riley & Pitt, LLP, where he has spent more than two decades fighting for injured individuals and their families. A proud advocate for railroad workers and victims of negligence, Kirbyโs practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, FELA (Federal Employers Liability Act), and FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) litigation across Alabama and throughout the United States. Before becoming an attorney, Kirby worked for Norfolk Southern Railway Corporation for eleven years in the Maintenance of Way department. That hands-on experience gave him a deep understanding of the dangers railroad workers face and the life-changing effects of workplace injuries. Today, he uses that firsthand insight to help those same workers seek justice under FELA, the federal law that protects and compensates injured railroad employees. Kirby is recognized as Designated FELA Counsel for the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) โ a distinction that reflects both his expertise and his lifelong dedication to protecting injured workers. Over his career, he has helped secure numerous multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts, representing clients in railroad injury cases, wage-and-hour disputes, and complex class actions nationwide. A native of Lynn, Alabama, Kirby earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama and his law degree from Birmingham School of Law. After graduating in 1994, he returned to his alma mater as an associate professor, teaching torts, civil procedure, and agency and partnership law. In 1997, he founded Farris, Riley & Pitt, building the firm on a reputation of trust and referrals from fellow lawyers across Alabama. In addition to his legal practice, Kirby co-hosts LawCall, a live Sunday-night legal call-in show on Fox 6 WBRC, which he and his law partner Ken Riley have sponsored for years.
