About Kiefer Starbird

I am Kiefer Starbird, an Associate Attorney, and I provide family law representation to clients in Franklin County, Missouri, and the surrounding areas from our office in Union, Missouri. I earned my Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, in 2021. During my time at law school, I held the position of President of the Federalist Society and Treasurer of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Prior to law school, I attended the College of the Ozarks, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Accounting and served as the Captain of the Men’s Basketball Team. Before joining the team of divorce and family law attorneys at Stange Law Firm in Union, MO, I worked as an Associate Attorney at a law firm in Hillsboro, MO. There, I conducted legal research and drafted memoranda, motions, and pleadings in various practice areas including real estate, landlord-tenant, litigation, and probate law. I represented clients in hearings and motion practices, where I demonstrated strong advocacy skills. Additionally, I drafted and reviewed contracts and agreements to ensure compliance and minimize legal risks. Earlier in my career, I served as a Certified Legal Intern at Washburn Law’s Small Business & Nonprofit Transactional Law Clinic. In this role, I interviewed clients, drafted legal documents tailored to their needs, and collaborated with partner interns to resolve issues. In the summer of 2019, I interned with the Missouri Public Defender System, where I organized legal documents for trial preparation and observed client interviews, arraignments, and pre-trial hearings.
