About Katie Griffin

Osiyo! My first introduction to the Rogers County legal community was in 2017, where I was first employed as a legal administrative assistant at Higgins & Easley, P.C. while attending Rogers State University. In 2018, I became a legal assistant and office manager at Dale R. Marlar Law Office, PLLC, where I was employed until Noah Sears and I founded Griffin & Sears, PLLC in 2022. In 2019, I was named a Distinguished Graduate of Professional Studies and graduated magna cum laude from the Rogers State University Honors Program with my Bachelor of Science in business administration management. I went on to attend the University of Tulsa College of Law, where I concentrated in Native American Law and obtained my Juris Doctor with Honor in 2022. I have developed strong working relationships with my clients over the years and assisted them in navigating divorces, adoptions, guardianships, business formations, estate planning, probates, name changes, small claims, civil litigation, criminal defense, and a rapidly evolving Native American law landscape. As a proud citizen of Cherokee Nation, my legal and cultural studies inform my advocacy for restorative alternatives to the carceral system. Traditional peacemaking serves an essential role in our modern court systems, which inspired me to complete courses in compliance with the Oklahoma District Court Mediation Act in Family, Divorce, Civil, Commercial, and Employment Mediation. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work is helping clients develop creative strategies for attacking problems instead of people. I am a member of the Rogers County Bar Association, and I presently serve on the Steering Committee for the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. I am an empathetic, wholistic, and inclusive advocate committed to deconstructing traditional barriers to the justice system. I assist clients in telling their stories, navigating legal dilemmas, and addressing collateral consequences.
