About Kathleen Nee

Attorney Katie Nee practices in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. Katie represents defendants charged with a wide range of criminal offenses including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, refusal to submit to a chemical test, drug offenses, domestic violence, assault, robbery, and a wide array of sexual offenses including possession of child pornography, child molestation and sexual assault. Katie aggressively defends each and every client and does not shy away from taking a case to trial if that is the best option for a client.In addition, Katie represents people who were harmed by the negligence of others including those injured in car accidents. She will negotiate the best settlement possible for her clients and if the insurance company does not offer a reasonable settlement, she will take them to court.Prior to founding Nee Law LLC, Katie had the privilege of serving as a legal assistant to Judge John J. McConnell, Jr., United States District Court. She also trained at the law firms of Harrington & Vitale, Motley Rice and Deluca & Weizenbaum where she gained experience in criminal defense and civil litigation.Prior to returning to her home state of RI, Katie enjoyed a distinguished career in electoral politics. At age 26, she became the youngest Congressional Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill when she had the honor of working with Congressman Don Cazayoux of Louisiana. She also held the post of Southern Regional Political Director to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and managed and consulted on dozens of political campaigns across the United States. Locally, her political experience includes serving as an advisor to Congressman David Cicilline, serving on the board of Progreso Latino, mentoring a young adult through the Year Up program. In 2014, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner appointed Katie as his transition director.
