About Kacey Simmons

Kacey N. Simmons is an associate attorney at Barbieri Law Firm, where she focuses her practice exclusively on criminal defense. She is a dedicated advocate for individuals facing serious charges and is committed to protecting her clients’ rights at every stage of the legal process. Kacey brings a strong foundation in trial advocacy and courtroom strategy. She is known for her preparation, attention to detail, and ability to think quickly under pressure — skills she developed through years of competitive and real-world litigation experience. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 2025. During law school, Kacey distinguished herself as one of the top advocates in her graduating class, earning the Niemann Cup for best overall advocate and being inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honor recognizing excellence in trial work. Before pursuing her legal career, Kacey graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a degree in Philosophy. She also served as president of the university’s mock trial team, demonstrating early on her passion for courtroom advocacy. Kacey gained valuable insight into criminal litigation through internships with both the Collin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. She also clerked with Barbieri Law Firm prior to joining the team as an associate attorney, giving her hands-on experience with complex and high-stakes defense matters. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Aggie Bar Association, and the Dallas Young Lawyers Association.
