About Joseph Stolz

I am an associate in the Labor & Employment Group at Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, where I represent employers in a wide range of employment law and business matters. My work includes handling complex litigation, conducting workplace investigations, and resolving disputes. I have successfully represented clients in employment and business litigation, including serving as second chair in two trials that resulted in over $1 million in damages. I’ve also achieved favorable outcomes in several mediations. My experience includes drafting dispositive motions, having written and opposed more than a dozen summary judgment motions with a strong success rate. Additionally, I’ve prepared multiple successful appellate briefs and argued before the California Court of Appeal. I manage all phases of litigation, including complex discovery and e-discovery in high-volume document cases. I am committed to pursuing my clients’ interests, whether that involves advising on intricate workplace issues or stepping into the courtroom when necessary. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants, as well as employees and employers, I bring a balanced perspective that shapes my approach and enhances my advocacy. I am known for my patience, determination, and creative problem-solving, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for my clients in an efficient manner. Before joining JMBM, I practiced at a boutique litigation firm, where I represented corporate clients such as Santé Health System, Inc., securing multimillion-dollar recoveries and avoiding significant liabilities. I also represented high-level employees in various discrimination and wrongful termination cases. I graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School, where I was a Sayre Macneil Scholar, a finalist in the Scott Moot Court Competition, a volunteer member of the Scott Moot Court Honors Board, and a me.
