About John Kristjansson

I am John Kristjansson, a Senior Associate Attorney at Stange Law Firm, where I represent clients throughout Tulsa County, OK, and nearby regions from our Tulsa family law office. I completed my Juris Doctor at the University of Tulsa College of Law in December 2017. Before law school, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in December 2014, where I majored in Liberal Studies and minored in Political Science, History, and American Studies. I am licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and am a member of several bar associations including the Tulsa County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Cherokee Nation Bar Association. I am also admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. Prior to my current role at Stange Law Firm, I worked as a Contract Attorney for the City of Tulsa Municipal Public Defender. There, I represented indigent defendants and was instrumental in developing the office’s McGirt Motion template. Since May 2018, I have also run a solo practice in Tulsa, where I have achieved notable successes such as securing the dismissal of a juvenile case on UCCJEA subject-matter grounds and representing an appellee in the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. In 2017, I externed with the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Tulsa, where my responsibilities included drafting motions, conducting appellate research, and preparing memoranda. Additionally, as part of the Lobeck-Taylor Community Advocacy Clinic, I co-authored a policy review on criminal court cost reforms and engaged in direct client advocacy and policy work.
