About Joel Krautter

Joel Krautter is a Montana and North Dakota trial lawyer who is focused on advocating for the disabled, injured and wrongly accused and standing up for constitutional rights. Joel is a problem solver who brings his legal knowledge, dedication and compassion to help people that are navigating the legal system at some of their most difficult times in their lives. Joel focuses his law practice in the areas of social security disability appeals (SSDI & SSI), personal injury, criminal law and constitutional rights, as well as estate and Medicaid planning, mineral rights and probate. Joel is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Law (2014) Liberty University (2011) and the Gerry Spence Method Trial College (2023). Joel is a member of the American Association for Justice, Montana Trial Lawyers, National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives, the Yellowstone Area Bar Association and Northeast Montana Bar Association. Joel practice law with Netzer Krautter Law Firm, P.C., together with his senior law partner, Donald Netzer, who handles a mix of estate and Medicaid planning, real estate and probate matters. Netzer Krautter Law Firm, P.C. has offices in Sidney and Billings, Montana. Joel is a former member of the Montana House of Representatives, serving from 2019-2020 and currently serves on the boards of non-profits, the Friends of the Montana Constitution and Friends of Montana PBS. Joel resides in Billings, Montana and grew up in Deer Lodge, Montana. In Joel's free time he likes to enjoy the outdoors with his golden retriever Rusty, travel, hike, hunt, golf and ski.
