About Jessica Avis

Jessica Avis, J.D. (formerly Jessica Trillo) Senior Associate Attorney Jessica Avis is a dedicated family law attorney with a strong foundation in both legal and business disciplines. Raised in rural Oklahoma, she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2015, graduating with a double major in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2018, graduating cum laude and earning recognition as one of the top legal scholars in her class. Following law school, Jessica was selected to serve as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Stephen Jouard of the 8th Judicial District in Larimer County, Colorado. Upon completing her clerkship, she began focusing her legal practice exclusively on family law. Jessica represents clients in a wide range of domestic matters, including dissolution of marriage, allocation of parental responsibilities, enforcement of child and spousal support, contempt proceedings, and post-decree modifications. Her experience encompasses representation of both mothers and fathers, as well as husbands and wives, allowing her to skillfully navigate the nuanced dynamics of family law from all perspectives. While Colorado’s legal system is designed to be gender-neutral, Jessica understands the subtle ways in which gender dynamics can influence the process and advocates effectively regardless of whom she represents. Her calm and composed demeanor has proven invaluable in high-conflict cases, where her ability to maintain focus and professionalism under pressure distinguishes her practice. Outside the courtroom, Jessica enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their three dogs. She is an avid camper and hiker, and particularly enjoys lakeside activities throughout Colorado’s scenic wilderness.
