Mr. McDonald has established himself as a distinguished attorney in the legal community as the owner and operator of the Law Office of Jerry A. McDonald PLC since 2002. Bringing over two decades of experience to his practice, he specializes in family law, business law, estate planning, probate, and criminal law. His expertise in these areas is a testament to his dedication and comprehensive understanding of the legal system. Besides founding his Minnesota law firm, Mr. McDonald garnered success as a business consultant for over five years, where he honed his skills in strategic planning and client advisement. However, his career began in engineering, where he worked for various defense companies for several years. This diverse background has provided Mr. McDonald with a unique perspective on legal issues and a robust problem-solving skill set. In addition to his primary professional endeavors, Mr. McDonald has been deeply involved in his local community. He continues to serve as a member on the City of Chanhassen’s City Council. He has served in this position for over 15 years and prior to that as a planning commissioner for nearly three years. These roles allowed him to directly impact the development and governance of his community, reflecting his commitment to public service. His military service further exemplifies this commitment, having honorably served as a qualified submariner in the U.S. Navy’s submarine service. Mr. McDonald’s academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronics engineering from Western Kentucky University in 1979, a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University in 1985, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2002. He was also admitted, in 2002, by the Minnesota Supreme Court to the practice of law within Minnesota.
