About Jeremy-Evan Alva

Experienced criminal defense lawyer Jeremy-Evan Alva has always sought to defend the underdog, even in the face of a challenge. He takes on difficult situations, including federal cases and felony matters. Jeremy is an invaluable aid on the side of those who are overwhelmed with the stress of criminal accusations. He proactively seeks out solutions for each unique case, while keeping his clients informed through every step of the process. Even while working through his education, Jeremy took on a challenge. He constructed his own triple major of Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science. While pursuing these studies, he pursued his true area of interest, race relations, which he gained valuable insight into while in school that he has carried with him into the legal field. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he turned his energy to James Beasley School of Law at Temple University and earned his Juris Doctor. As the first step of his legal career, Jeremy served at the Public Defender Association of Philadelphia, gaining courtroom experience and defending clients suffering from extreme hardship and facing criminal charges. He continues to fight aggressively for clients in tough situation in his current position as an attorney at Alva & Shuttleworth, LLC. He has tackled hundreds of cases covering a vast range of criminal offenses, from misdemeanor drug charges to felony manslaughter. Because of his determination, he was recognized for the third time in 2011 as a "Pennsylvania Rising Star" by Super Lawyers Magazine.
