Janeth Moreno, Esq., LL.M. is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Moreno Law, an immigration law firm in Boston dedicated to empowering immigrant communities through compassionate and strategic advocacy. The firm offers comprehensive services in deportation defense, family reunification, humanitarian visas, waivers, and naturalization. Born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, Attorney Moreno is licensed to practice law in both Mexico and the State of New York. She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Suffolk University Law School and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the New York State Bar Association, and the Boston Bar Association (BBA). She also served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA) and is affiliated with the United Nations Association of New York (UNA-NY). In 2021, she was appointed by U.S. Senators Edward J. Markey and Elizabeth Warren to the bipartisan Advisory Committee on Massachusetts Judicial Nominations, where she assisted in evaluating candidates for federal judicial vacancies. Her extensive experience in international law, refugee protection, human rights, and migration policy reflects her lifelong commitment to social justice and equality. Attorney Moreno participated in the 58th Session of the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women in New York (2014) and the U.N. Global Affairs and Refugee Protection Program in Geneva (2015). Since 2015, she has served as Immigration Attorney for the Consulate General of Mexico in Boston and as Of Counsel to the Consulate of Colombia (2019–2021). From 2020 to 2023, she partnered with the City of Somerville’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (SOIA) to provide legal representation to local residents.
