A long-time advocate for the elderly and LGBTQIA+ community, Jane has served on the Michigan State Bar’s Elder Law & Disability Rights Section, the National Family Law Advisory Committee for the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and as Co-Chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association Probate Section. She is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the LGBT Bar/NCLR Family Law Institute, and is frequently invited to speak for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education and community organizations. Jane’s distinguished record of service gained her admission to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, holds a master’s in music theory & literature from Eastern Michigan University, and a bachelor’s in vocal performance from Albion College.
