About James Hamilton

I represent clients in civil and appellate litigation at Phillips Law Firm, Inc., located in Montgomery, Ohio, just outside Cincinnati. My primary practice areas are contract and real estate disputes. I work hard to resolve every case efficiently and effectively, whether through negotiation, litigation, or appeal. Before joining Phillips Law Firm, I served for two years as a judicial law clerk with the Ohio First District Court of Appeals. That role gave me deep insight into how appellate decisions are made and sharpened my skills in legal research, analysis, and persuasive writing. I worked on a wide range of cases, including commercial non-compete agreements, foreclosures, wrongful death claims, parental rights disputes, and criminal appeals. Prior to my legal career, I spent over 16 years in the cybersecurity field with the U.S. Department of Defense. That background taught me how to navigate complex systems, assess risk, and think several steps ahead—skills that I now apply to every case I handle. When I’m not advocating for my clients, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, playing board games, and exploring amateur radio.
