About Jack Schuler

I am Jack G. Schuler, a detail-oriented attorney with a robust background in legal research, writing, and appellate practice. I am adept at drafting persuasive briefs, analyzing complex legal issues, and presenting effective oral arguments. My dedication to providing exceptional representation is particularly focused on underserved clients, whom I serve with creativity and empathy. I am licensed to practice in Illinois and am deeply committed to advancing justice through collaborative teamwork. I earned my Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, IA, in May 2023. During my time at law school, I was honored to be on the Dean’s List for two semesters and received CALI Awards in Business Associations and Sales. My leadership roles included serving as President of the National Lawyers Guild (Chapter) and as a Faculty Representative in the Student Bar Association. I also co-founded the Drake Law Food Pantry to support student welfare, underscoring my commitment to advocacy and addressing community needs. Prior to law school, I served in the Marine Corps and Army Reserves. I have two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Briar Cliff University. Currently, I am an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Reilly & Skerston in Ottawa, IL, where I have been working since May 2023. My role involves drafting and filing appellate briefs, motions, and legal memoranda for both civil and criminal cases. I conduct extensive legal research and statutory analysis on novel issues, including those in privacy and tort law. I represent clients in appellate proceedings and collaborate with colleagues to develop effective case strategies. Previously, I was a Law Clerk at Iowa Legal Aid in Sioux City, IA, as part of the Poverty Law Internship Program from July to August 2022. During this internship, I independently resolved two cases involving forcible entry.
