About Dennis Shillen

I was born in Coral Gables, Florida, where I first developed a passion for advocating for the rights of the underprivileged and those seriously injured due to negligence. This commitment to helping others has been a guiding principle throughout my education and legal career. Since becoming an attorney in 1980, I have worked to advance the rights of tens of thousands of injured individuals. My legal practice is dedicated exclusively to representing personal injury clients, and I have successfully secured millions of dollars in compensation for them. I strive to achieve maximum compensation and deliver the best possible outcomes for those I represent. I earned my J.D., cum laude, from Howard University School of Law in 1980 and my B.A. in Political Science, with honors, from Florida International University in 1975. I am admitted to practice law in Florida and Vermont, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and the District of Vermont, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my work. I am honored to be listed as a Top-Rated attorney on Super Lawyers and as an Avvo Top Rated Lawyer for 2024. I am also a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum and hold an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which is described as the “Highest Possible Rating in Both Legal Ability & Ethical Standards Reflecting the Confidential Opinions of Members of the Bar and Judiciary.” Additionally, I have received American Jurisprudence Awards in Commercial Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Law.
