Debbie McIntyre-Yurkovich is a founding partner of McIntyre DeFede Law PLLC. Her clients benefit from her many years of experience and knowledge garnered from prior cases and clients. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich has represented individuals in a variety of matters throughout Northern Virginia. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich is also the parent of a child with special needs, and she understands the unique circumstances that present legally, economically, and emotionally to parents of special needs children. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich is proud that many of her client referrals come from her many satisfied current and past clients. She is equally proud that she receives many referrals from opposing counsel, professional experts in the community, and former opposing parties. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich practices in the areas of family law, criminal law, and education (school) law. She regularly appears in circuit, general district and juvenile courts throughout Northern Virginia. She has successfully represented hundreds of individuals charged with crimes ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. She has extensive trial experience litigating complex equitable distribution tracing cases, relocation and international custody cases, protective order cases, abuse and neglect cases, and school law related matters. She also has extensive experience in representing individuals in school meetings and administrative proceedings, which include but are not limited to special education, in state tuition appeals, student discipline, and school employment matters. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich also routinely serves as counsel for those seeking guardianship and/or conservatorship of an incapacitated adult. In addition, she has been certified as a Guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults in guardianship, conservatorship, and family law matters. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich has also taken the qualification course to be a Guardian ad litem for children.
