Since completing my law degree in 2007, I have dedicated my career to practicing criminal defense. I gained initial experience working as a defense attorney at various firms before establishing my own practice in 2010. After over a decade as a solo practitioner, I am now a founding partner at Jones & De La Garza. My work encompasses all stages of a case, with a particular focus on post-conviction appeals and writs of habeas corpus. As lead counsel, I have successfully overturned more than 14 wrongful convictions. Currently, seven of my clients are listed in the National Registry of Exonerations, with another submission pending. I have also contributed as co-counsel on several other wrongful convictions. I serve on the Board of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and am a member of the Bexar County Managed Assigned Counsel’s Oversight Committee. Additionally, I am part of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
