About David Leake

David T. Leake is the owner of the Law Office of David T. Leake, Esq. located in downtown Somerset. Attorney Leake opened his office after working for Joseph B. Policicchio, an attorney with 40 years of experience in Somerset, who transferred his law practice to Attorney Leake. His office occupies an entire building on Center Street and he has a full time paralegal/secretary/public notary on staff with over twenty years of experience to assist him as well as an assistant paralegal. Attorney Leake has extensive courtroom experience as his practice focuses mainly on courtroom litigation. He has presented countless cases before the court and is generally before the court at least once a day. At any given time he has at least one hundred docketed cases in Somerset County. He was also previously employed as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Somerset County Court of Common Pleas where he gained knowledge of the legal system from the judicial perspective. He attended Duquesne University School of Law as an evening student working full time throughout law school. Upon graduation he received numerous awards for excellence in trial and appellate advocacy, as well as one of the most prestigious graduation awards called the John Sciullio Peer Excellency Award, a peer voted award for outstanding work ethic and integrity. He was also inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honors society for courtroom advocacy, and won a National Moot Court Competition. His main practice areas include criminal defense, DUI, family law, custody, divorce, wills, estates, trusts, civil litigation, NFA trusts, firearm law, and general practice.
