I’m Dave L. Simmons, and I practice law at the Law Offices of Dave L. Simmons, P.A. in Broward County. I’ve been working in the criminal justice field for nearly 28 years. My academic path began at Florida State University, where I graduated cum laude with a degree in Communications. I then earned my Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law School. After law school, I worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office and later as an Assistant Public Defender for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. These roles allowed me to gain a thorough understanding of the judicial system in Broward County, as I handled both misdemeanor and felony cases from the perspectives of both prosecution and defense. This experience has equipped me with the ability to build a strong defense for my clients. When I transitioned to private practice, I focused on defending individuals accused of criminal offenses. Over the past 24 years, I’ve represented thousands of clients facing charges ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. I am dedicated to using my knowledge and experience to provide a strong defense and work toward the best possible outcomes for those I represent. I am a member of the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and remain in good standing with The Florida Bar and the Supreme Court of Florida. I also hold an “Superb” rating on Avvo, and I am Peer Review Rated on Martindale-Hubbell. My background in both prosecuting and defending cases allows me to navigate the complexities of criminal law and advocate effectively for my clients.
