About Daniel Snyder

I have been an active member of the Oregon State Bar since 1978. I was admitted by the United States District Court in 1985 and by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2001. I am also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Currently, we have a case pending before the United States Supreme Court. I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. While in law school I was a legal aid clinic volunteer. In my third year of law school, I worked full time while attending school as a law clerk in the corporate legal department of Miles Laboratories working on products liability issues. After law school graduation, I moved to Oregon. I worked as a trial clerk for the Honorable James Ellis. My first job as a practicing attorney was as a prosecuting attorney trying criminal cases. I was a deputy district attorney for the Jefferson County District Attorney's office for one and a half years trying mostly misdemeanor cases. I was a deputy district attorney for the Multnomah County District Attorney's office for three and a half years trying misdemeanor and felony case. In 1984, I began practicing civil litigation as a deputy city attorney for the City of Portland. I worked for the City of Portland for three and a half years defending the City of Portland in civil rights and general liability matters. I then worked for a small plaintiff’s law firm for less than two years. Since 1988, I have had my own practice handling civil cases since approximately 1988, mainly in the areas of employment discrimination and civil rights.
