About Daniel Patchin

I grew up in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by opportunities to ski, hunt, and fish in this incredible state. While I initially planned to pursue a chemistry degree, my interest shifted after taking Business Law courses at Boise State University. I decided to complete my degree at BSU, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in French, and began researching law schools across the country. During the latter part of my undergraduate studies, I often spoke with my friend Barry Peters, who became a mentor to me regarding law school and the legal profession. Before I started law school, Barry extended an offer for me to practice with him after graduation. After finishing my degree at BSU, I spent a year working in commercial construction and married my wonderful wife, Taylor. A few months after our wedding, we moved to Moscow, Idaho, where I attended law school at The University of Idaho. Thanks to Barry's offer, I was able to focus my studies in law school on Estate Planning, knowing it would be relevant to my future practice. Following graduation, I began working alongside Barry, gaining valuable experience drafting wills, trusts, and probate filings while learning from his extensive background in the field. In January 2019, I became a partner with Barry as he started to step back and take on fewer clients. With Barry now retired, I am proud to continue the practice alongside Ben Monaghan, following the foundation Barry built throughout his career. Together, we offer affordable legal services backed by a satisfaction guarantee. Outside of work, I enjoy the lifestyle that Idaho provides—fishing, hunting, backpacking, skiing, golfing, and more. My wife and I have two wonderful daughters, and we’re raising them to appreciate all the unique experiences Idaho has to offer. I’m excited about what the future holds for both my family and this community.
