Colby Addison is the founder of Addison Law Firm in Oklahoma City, where he concentrates on civil rights, personal injury, tribal law, employment disputes, and complex federal litigation. He is admitted to practice before all three U.S. District Courts in Oklahoma—the Western, Northern, and Eastern Districts—as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Addison currently serves as a Tribal Supreme Court Justice, a judicial role that deepens his understanding of sovereignty issues, intergovernmental relations, and the intersection of tribal and federal law. He previously served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Oklahoma Civil Service Division, where he adjudicated employment disputes between state agencies and their employees—experience he now applies to his plaintiff-side employment practice. Over the course of his career, Mr. Addison has handled thousands of cases and recovered millions of dollars for his clients through settlements and verdicts. He has certified numerous classes of litigation and has experience representing state agencies charged with overseeing portfolios valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. His government service also includes advising state and tribal legislative bodies on policy and lawmaking. Mr. Addison earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he served on the Oklahoma Law Review. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers and has taught Continuing Legal Education courses to fellow practitioners. His practice areas include Section 1983 civil rights claims, excessive force and jail-conditions cases, trucking and catastrophic-injury litigation, wrongful death, tribal gaming regulation, general outside counsel services, and federal appellate advocacy. He also serves as a board member of a Native CDFI-aligned lending institution.
