About Claire Scully

Ms. Scully has been an attorney since 1989. She is a graduate of Touro College of Law in New York. Before graduating, she spent her last year as an intern in the Office of the District Attorney. After graduating, she accepted a position as an Assistant District Attorney and immediately began her jury trial experience. As a municipal lawyer, Ms. Scully successfully argued petty theft cases, traffic tickets, speeding cases, and other issues typical of a municipal law practice. In 1991, Ms. Scully accepted a position as an Assistant Prosecutor in Cape May County. In 1993, she transferred to the office of the Monmouth County Prosecutor, where she worked on a trial team until 1997. After a brief hiatus to start a family, Ms. Scully returned to the workforce in 2000, on the other side of the fence, as a criminal defense attorney. She gained experience with a range of issues, including: DUI/DWI, suspended license and reckless driving cases; domestic violence crimes; sex crimes, assault and battery cases; drug possession and other drug crimes. She has also served as a juvenile attorney for delinquency and other charges affecting youth. In 2005, Ms. Scully opened her solo practice, where she concentrates on criminal defense and family law matters in Monmouth County NJ, Freehold, NJ and Ocean County, NJ. She also accepts cases in both New Jersey and New York, and travels throughout the State on behalf of her clients. Ms. Scully has been part of the landscape in the criminal justice system for years.
