About Cathryn Calia
My practice is driven by the belief that children and animals deserve strong, compassionate advocacy and unwavering protection under the law. With over 30 years of experience as a veterinary internal medicine consultant, I bring a strong background in problem-solving, collaboration, and client care to my work as an attorney. I understand the importance of truly listening, fostering meaningful relationships, and working closely with clients to develop legal solutions that are practical, thoughtful, and tailored to their unique needs. I chose to pursue a career in law to expand the ways I can advocate for and support others. I am licensed to practice law in New Jersey and am an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association. My current areas of focus include assisted reproduction and adoption law, guardianships, special education law, and all aspects of animal law. I find particular fulfillment in addressing complex legal challenges and guiding clients through them with integrity and creativity. Additionally, I am open to serving as a mediator or expert witness in animal law matters.
