About Carter Beckworth

CARTER BECKWORTH is an associate attorney at Hays & Friedman, P.A. in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His background includes a range of experience in intellectual property and entertainment law, as well as commercial and residential real estate. During law school, Carter worked for two law firms in Denver, where he assisted clients with a variety of business matters, including LLC formation, asset purchase and sale agreements, partnership agreements, voting agreements, and executive stock option contracts. Originally from Houston, Carter earned his J.D. in 2019 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, along with a Certificate of Specialization in Intellectual Property. His interests include litigation, business transactions, legal ethics, and copyright and trademark law. A former touring singer-songwriter and talent agent, Carter has a hands-on background in entertainment law, including the negotiation of personal service agreements, live performance contracts, recording contracts, and publishing agreements. Carter received his B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin in 2010. He resides in Santa Fe with his wife, Jillian, and their two Labrador Retrievers, Penny and Gila.
