About Anthony Vargas

The most important role of being an attorney for Anthony has always been the role of the advocate. When facing a team of prosecutors, a judge (often a former prosecutor), and an incredible amount of prejudice for being labeled a “defendant”, the advocate is often the only voice the client has left. This caused Anthony to approach his career with the goal of being a great trial attorney. In law school, he was trained by some of the best trial attorneys in the state, spending years perfecting the art of trial. While in law school, Anthony was consistently recognized as one of the best law school advocates in the nation, winning numerous trial competitions throughout the country. After graduating with his Juris Doctorate from California Wester School of Law and passing the California Bar Exam, Anthony went to work for one of the biggest criminal defense firms in the state; the San Diego Office of the Public Defender. There, he represented thousands of clients and cultivated a reputation as a talented and respected trial attorney who routinely secured dismissals, acquittals, and other favorable results in misdemeanor and felony cases. He was trusted to lead a team of attorneys in representing thousands of individuals charged with crimes and spent countless hours in court arguing for people's rights as a respected trial attorney. Anthony's courtroom excellence and reputation as a skilled advocate has led to Anthony teaching others the art of trial. He teaches trial skills to law students at California Western School of Law, to practicing attorney with the San Diego Inn of Court as a Workshop Leader, and to practicing attorneys with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
