About Adam Johnson

Adam Johnson is a Louisiana criminal defense attorney and partner at The Johnson Firm, where he represents individuals facing some of the most serious and stressful moments of their lives. Known for his compassion, preparation, and unwavering commitment to justice, Adam approaches every case with a singular purpose: to stand between his clients and the full force of the criminal justice system when they need an advocate most. A significant part of Adam’s practice is dedicated to DUI and DWI defense, where early action, attention to detail, and strategic advocacy can make a big difference. He helps clients challenge traffic stops, breath and blood testing procedures, field sobriety tests, and license suspensions, while working to minimize penalties and protect their driving privileges, records, and livelihoods. Whether a client is facing a first-time DUI or a more serious charge, Adam brings the same intensity, preparation, and care to every case. Adam has built a reputation as a zealous trial lawyer and appellate advocate, successfully handling cases in both Louisiana state and federal courts. His work includes overturned convictions, not-guilty jury verdicts, and arguments before the Louisiana Supreme Court that have helped shape precedent law. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, later clerking for Judges Robert Wyatt and Ronald Ware before joining The Johnson Firm in 2009. In addition to his legal practice, Adam is deeply involved in the legal community. He serves on the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates, is President-Elect of the SWLA Bar Association, and has received multiple LSBA Leadership and President Awards. He also assists in writing the Criminal Law section of the Louisiana Bar Exam.
